2510 Bay Ranger

2016 2510 Bay Ranger

Robbins Marine gives us a walkthrough of all the features of the 2016 2510 Bay Ranger. At 24′ 7″ with a 100.5″ beam, 2510 is the largest of Rangers saltwater models. 2510 comes with a nice assortment of standard features including a 320-quart fish box, 12″ hydraulic jack plate, pull-up cleats, and LED lights.

A neat feature on this boat is the Power Ventilation Rod Storage™. A fan circulates fresh air through the forward rod storage compartment keeping your rods dry and corrosion-free. This is a nice boat, very well laid out with some great features. Watch the video and see for yourself.

Highlights

At the Bow

  • Anchor box with room for 120 feet of rope.
  • 320 qt fish box.
  • 120 qt insulated cooler.
  • Ventilated left side rod box for 8″ rods.
  • Right side rod box.
  • Storage with a cutout for a 5 gal bucket for cast net storage.

Center Console
Convenience Station: The seat at the front of the console swings out of the wat to reveal a small room. The room is large enough for a full-grown man. It is perfect for a porta-potty and includes an LED light, fan, and storage shelf.

Center console includes twin multifunction displays. All switches are conveniently located above the MFDs. The boat in this video includes a separate driving station above the console and multi-color overhead LED lights and LED accent lighting along the deck. The driver and passenger console seats convert to leaning post.

Aft

  • 40 gal live well back from driver seats.
  • Freshwater washdown.
  • Large flat transom with ample fishing room lifts up to reveal seating for two.
  • Tackle storage.
  • 15 gal bait tank.
  • Storage box.
  • Easy access to all accessories.

This is a nice bay boat. It has a nice layout with many innovative features. Just what you would expect from Ranger.

One thing that concerns me though is that you can’t dim the cockpit lights while driving. This means that you must choose between having no lights on while underway or ruining your night vision. Both bad choices!

An LED light controller would solve this problem.

MFD Light Controller

For this boat, I would recommend the Shadow-Caster SCM-MDF-Kit. It would give the captain complete control over all of the boat’s LED lighting through the multifunction displays.

He would have the choice to dim the lights, change colors, or ever turn up the deck lighting while keeping the overhead lights at their lowest light level.

It would also allow you to expand the boat lighting. This could include color-changing LED strip lights under the bolster pads and color-changing underwater lights.

Overall 2016 2510 Bay Ranger is a very nice boat. With a few modern upgrades to the lighting, it can be even better.
