It ain’t over until the last leaf falls! Boating season that is. One of my favorite fall boating activities is going for a slow cruise on a clear mountain lake and just taking in the scenery. Sure it is kind of cool, but you usually have the lake to yourself and you don’t have to put up with all the leaf lookers on the road. Discover Boating has a list on their website, Top Spots to View Autumn Colors from the Water that lists 8 lakes around the country with great fall foliage. I have added a couple of more to round this out to a top ten list. I know there are a lot more. Leave us a comment to share your favorite lake for watching the leaves turn.
1) Bar Harbor, Maine
2) Lake Chelan, Washington
3) Lake George, New York
4) Lake Jocassee, South Carolina
5) Lake Monroe, Indiana
6) Lake Tahoe, California
7) Lake Tellico, Tennessee
8) Saugatuck, Michigan
9) Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia
10) Squam Lake, New Hampshire
